South Sussex Barbarians
To ensure rugby girls throughout Sussex get the opportunity to play regular games, the Girls District League has been formed.
Girls rugby teams from across Sussex will combine to form U12, U15 and U18 sides in one of four district areas.
South Sussex Barbarians are made up of Lewes, Shoreham, Brighton, Hove, Newick, Plumpton and Uckfield RFCs. Visit www.southsussexbarbarians.co.uk for news, information, fixtures, photos and much more!
Most girls know little about the game when they start but progress very quickly. The majority of our rugby girls have been selected for the County U15 squad with the remaining South Sussex girls invited to train alongside to develop their potential.
Rugby is a very sociable game. Girls get to know many players from other rugby teams throughout the year and look forward to meeting up with friends at the highlight – the end of season festivals.
The girls are a lively, friendly group who are looking for more girls to join them. No experience is necessary just enthusiasm!
We welcome girls from ages 11 - 18 (school years 6 – 13)
