Lewes U13s vs East Grinstead
Score: 35 - 28
Report by: Ron Sillett, Assistant Coach to the Lewes under 13s
Bit of a funny one as we had 30 players and they had only had 21 player so as it was only a friendly match we played two halves. This was our first friendly match of the season with a full side on a full size pitch, what a shock they had but coped with it very well.
In the first half we played our proposed As and won 28 to 14 with two tries from Fergus wood both being run along the line and one from Noah Tilling, a good individual try running through the opposition. The fourth try came from the forwards with some good pushing with Henry Coomber being the try scorer. East Grinstead had a very fast full back and ran through us twice scoring two fine converted tries, All our tries were converted by Albert Harvey.
In the second half we played our Bs against the same side and proved to be a much more even match but the East Grinstead full back doing the damage with two more converted tries. Lewes scored one final try through the forward pressure with Johnathan Clink getting the ball over the line and William Hutt with the conversion.

This is our second friendly match of the season preparing ourselves for our league game against Horsham next week. We had a fine display from all squad members. The fist half gave us 5 converted tries all scored by different players showing a good depth of skills, Robert Fogerty, Micheal Wood Noah Tilling Fergus Wood and Logan Collins with all tries being converted by Albert Harvey.
The second half we had a slightly weaker team trying to give all our squad a game but a again we scored 5 tries showing we have a depth of strength. Tries scored by Robert Fogerty Tom Derrick(2) Harvey Collier and Henry Porpora with one try converted by William Hutt. So pat on the back for all participants but next week will be a different kettle of fish.
