Lewes VIPs at Twickers
2nd February 2010

When Harlequins ran out to take the field against Cardiff Blues in a Heineken Cup European Game at the Stoop, Twickenham, there were two special guests on the pitch with them: Lewes RFC Under 8s Ollie Ingham and Luke Talbot. The boys got to run out with Quins’ skipper Will Skinner in front of a crowd of 11,000. Despite Quins losing 20-45 to the Blues it was a day the boys will never forget.

Lewes Under 8s coach Scott Talbot says: “I had planned this surprise for a while and Quins were amazingly helpful all down the line. Ollie sadly lost his mother to cancer last September – he is a very happy go lucky little chap who has dealt with the tragedy amazingly well. His older brother Ben was included in the build up and pre-match excitement but because Ollie and Luke are both rugby mad, they were the ones who ran out with the Quins skipper.”
