Sussex Rugby Girls County and Regional Success

Lewes girl's section is run as a cluster with other clubs in the region. To ensure girls get opportunities for meaningful training and regular games, girls from Lewes RFC, Shoreham RFC and Brighton RFC get together to train and play as the South Sussex Barbarians.

This year the South Sussex Barbarians had 17 girls representing their County with 9 in the U15 squad and 8 in the U18 squad.

At the recent County Awards Dinner, members of the South Sussex Barbarians won an amazing 6 awards out of a possible 8.

U15s:

Champagne Moment - Heather Clegg
 

U18s:

After a successful County season, a record 9 girls from the South Sussex Barbarians are celebrating their achievement in being selected for the South-East Regional Squads.

Selected girls from the County squad were nominated by county coaches to go forward to the Regional trials at Gravesend RFC on 31st January. Competition for selection to the Regional squads gets harder every year, so our congratulations go to:

U15s: Ellie Ambridge, Heather Clegg, Harriet Dunn, Martha Gosney, Faye Kirby and Caitlin Ward.

U18s:  Yasmin Eager, Felicity Howes-Yarlett and Cassie Larcombe.
